Hazard to Man: CAUSES BURNS
Skin Contact Harmful if absorbed, extremely destructive to skin.
Eye contact Extremely destructive
Swallowing Harmful if swallowed
Inhalation Harmful if inhaled. Extremely destructive to tissue of mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract. May be fatal as a result of spasm, inflammation and pulmonary edema.
Other information Symptoms of exposure may include burning sensation, coughing, wheezing, laryngitis, shotness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting.

First Aid Measures
Skin Contact Wash skin with copious quantities of water for at least 15 minutes. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION if soreness persists.
Eye contact Flush eyes with copious quantities of water for at least 15 minutes. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION if soreness persists.
Inhalation If inhaled then remove to fresh air. If not breathing then give artificial respiration. If breathing difficult give oxygen.
Ingestion If swallowed wash mouth with water, provided person is conscious. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION.
Fire Fighting Measures
Suitable extinguishing media

Non combustible material. Use extinguishing media appropriate to surrounding fire conditions.

Accidental Release Measures
Personal Precautions Evacuate the area, wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots and heavy rubber gloves.
Environmental Precautions Prevent spilled product entering public water supplies, natural waterways or sewers. If product has entered a water course or sewer or has contaminated soil or vegetation then notify the authorities.
Methods for cleaning up Cover with dry lime or soda ash, pick up keep in a closed container and hold for waster disposal. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pick up is complete.
Handling & Storage
Handling Wear appropriate NiOSH/MSHA approved respirator, chemical resistant gloves, safety goggles, other resistant clothing. Mechanical exhaust required. Safety shower and eye bath available. Face shield (8" minimum). Avoid prolonged exposure. Wash thoroughly after handling.
Storage Corrosive, keep tightly closed and in a cool dry place.

General Corrosive, so avoid prolonged and repeated exposure. Avoid breathing vapour. Avoid contact with eyes and clothing.

Disposal Considerations
For small quantities Cautiously add to a large stirred excess of water. Adjust the pH to neutral, separate any insoluble solids or liquids and package them for hazardous waste disposal. Flush the aqueous solution down the drain with plenty of water. The hydrolysis and neutralisation may generate heat and fumes which can be controlled by the rate of addition.
